Larkspur
The delphinium larkspur was our first flower choice to grow our real petal confetti. It was chosen, as the flower petals when dried, keep their true colours, and become light and airy, ideal for a natural confetti. The larkspur produces vast quantities of small petal, each petal handpicked, and sifted to produce a bright clean quality petal confetti.
The larkspur is also known as delphis, meaning dolphin, and also Lark's Heel, Lark's claw and Knight's spur. If you look closely at the single flower of the delphinium larkspur, you can see that these common names have come from the shape of the flower.
Larkspurs are symbols of lightness and open heartedness. They are the birth flower of July and given to show ardent attachment. More specifically white larkspur means joyful and care free, and purple means the recipient is kind and caring.
The tradition of throwing confetti is as ancient as the tradition of marriage, and through the years and continents various items have been thrown at the newly wed couple, but all with a common purpose, to shower them with good wishes, fertility and health. Unfortunately the tradition of confetti has fallen from favour, regarded as littering and harmful to the environment. Bespoke confetti believe that our confetti offers a confetti without compromise to yourselves and to nature, keeping our traditions alive.
